Trine professor achieves robotics certification

In a significant stride towards advancing robotics education, Trine University proudly announces that Professor John Liu, Ph.D. has been certified as a robotics instructor. Professor Liu's journey consisted of a year of training and examinations, resulting in the prestigious certification from FANUC, a global leader in CNC systems and robotic machines. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of Trine’s faculty and will allow the university to stay at the forefront of technological education.

Raising money for patients with LLS

Adding a philanthropic touch to Trine’s achievements, Professor Brandon Podgorski is making headlines for being selected for the Visionary of the Year award by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). From 29th February to 9th May, Professor Podgorski, currently the director of Trine University’s Centre for Sports Studies, will lead a team seeking to raise at least $50,000 for LLS. With the funds going specifically towards supporting patients and their families who are battling blood cancers, these efforts from one of Trine’s staff members emphasise the importance of community engagement within the university.

A revolutionary experience for Engineering and CSIT students

And moving over to an inspirational student story, Trine’s students recently had the chance to work on a multi-million dollar project funded by the Department of Defense and U.S. Navy. This hands-on project provided valuable real-world experience for the students in areas like rapid prototyping, advanced manufacturing, AI development, and project management skills that will be highly valuable for future employers. It all culminates in the Artificial Intelligence Maritime Maneuver Indiana Collegiate Challenge (AIMM ICC) in April 2024, where universities across Indiana will compete. Break a leg Trine team!
